Sit and stay a while, child, as I turn you a tale of a far away place.. and.. Yep

The WW1 project got started because a lot of the old RB3D pilots began conversations on the forums about how they would love to see Oleg do a WW1 simulation with the detail that he had given to Il2. This was going on long before Forgotten Battles came out. As I remember it, what Oleg told everyone was that if the community could come up with enough models to submit them as a pack, and if they could provide him with enough data to make the flight models, he would include them in Forgotten Battles. What that would mean is that we were on our own to model what we pleased, but it had to meet his specifications, and we had to provide enough data to him that he didn't have to go out looking for more. We were our own Mod company

Unfortunatly, most people, like yourself, have just now see this forum and after Luthier's site came down, everyone scattered to the winds. I only know of 2 people still working here, one of them being myself, and Rumi, who is working on a Camel.. I mean, I think that the Camel and the Dr1 would make a pretty good addition all alone, but I do wish that we had the modeller base that we had way back when.

Hopefully that answers your question, feel free to stop by whenever

Jazz

I've got the files for the work done by fuertes on the Albatros. It's a thing of beauty. I believe zoycite got pretty far along with the D7 but haven't heard from him forever. Mossies site lists quite a few people who signed up to make certain planes. Don't know if mossie has heard from any of them in a long while, since Luthier's site went down, but I don't get any replies and now I don't have much time to oversee this so I only am able to drop in from time to time.

Hopefully between FB and BOB, there will be some time free in which modellers will be interested in making WW1 birds. They are much easier than ww2 planes, from what I have been told.

Some individuals have put their wok on hold, willing in some cases to offer the work to other modellers.

I've maitained the list to show how extensive the work was at the time, but your right only a could are now working be it at a slower pace.

There was hope that the BOB product would re-start the interest, as the Western Front would be covered, but even wiht the current release on FB the maps are their but no aircraft to fly.

I'm still on board, be it in the background.
