In your B-25J-1NA bomb the Japanese makeshift airstrip on Kure atoll and destroy the parked Aichi Vals. Alerted to the scene, Japanese Zeros have scrambled from IJN Shokaku CV and are headed your way. Man the gun turrets (by pressing C) and blast away at the enemy fighters. If you survive, you are in for a rather tedious flight over a vast expanse of water for landing on Midway, Easter Island airbase.

Coral Sea Mission Pack (Beta)
|
BAttle of the Coral Sea Mission Pack(Beta)
May 7-8, 1942 The first ever carrier-vs-carrier battle ever to take place. The Japanese Force under the command of Vice Admiral Takeo Takagi, was ordered into the Coral Sea for an invasion of Port Moresby. Under his command were the two new but already battle proven fleet carriers of the 5th Carrier Division, the Shokaku and Zuikaku, as well as the light carrier Shoho in the vanguard force.
Rear Admiral Jack Fletcher commanding Task Force 17 comprised of the carriers Lexington and Yorktown, sent from Pearl to halt any movement toward Moresby.
On these two momentous days aircraft from both sides clashed. The Japanese lost the Shoho and Shokaku was severely damaged from three direct bomb hits. The Lexington went down after a struggle from bomb and torpedo hits while the Yorktown survived with damage from a bomb. Both sides retired days later and the Japanese were forced to postpone the invasion and eventually cancel it.
This pack contains both Coop and Campaign missions. TO install just unzip to your main ILFB/PF folder.
Skins are included in the pack for historical representations but I cannot identify the authors(Canon I believe is one).
All missions now are in beta form and the Coop misisons are a rushed development.
Any suggestions and opinions are very welcome.

Nakajima_Rufe
(http://files.netwings.org/files/PacificFighters/Missions/Nakajima_Rufe/Nakajima_Rufe.zip)
|
In your Nakajima A6M2-N Rufe floatplane fighter take off from the water near the shoreline and bomb and strafe American B-25s grounded for maintenance at Peleliu. Your attack will come as a total surprise and there are no enemy fighters nearby. An airbase without any anti-aircraft guns is a highly improbable scenario, but the two Bofors 40mms proved to be a little too devastating an arsenal for the Rufes, so for the sake of playability, I had to remove them!
For mission complete make a perfect landing in the water in the designated area. Check map for bearings.

Emily and Tony, the gruesome twosome, vs. you and your F4U-1D. Who will prevail? Take off from USS Essex at anchor in a secluded bay in Palau, halfway between Peleliu and Babelthuap. Your task is to intercept the Kawanishi H8K1 Emily Maritime Reconnaissance Flying Boats before they start their dive towards USS Essex. The Kawasaki Ki-61 Tony's from Peleliu provide fighter cover for the torpedo bombers, so stay alert!

In your A6M5a take off from IJN Zuikaku, but be quick about it, because time is ticking away. Put some distance between your plane and the three Japanese aircraft carriers in Kure atoll so as to avoid the devastating blast from the American B-17's (in reality Pe-8's, because I wanted to test the impact of the 5000- kg bombs on the aircraft carriers), but they proved themselves to be rather elusive targets. The blast effect is powerful enough, though. Be the last one to survive and make it back to Zuikaku for landing. If any of the Allied aircraft survives, give chase and destroy!

Okinawa
(http://files.netwings.org/files/PacificFighters/Missions/Okinawa/Okinawa.zip)
|
In your F4U-1C take off from USS Intrepid and join the A-20 G's and P-38 L's in the raid against the airbase at Naha. Be prepared for a fierce counterattack by Japanese Ki-61-Otsus, Ki-84-Ia's and carrier-based A6M5c's scrambling from IJN Shokaku CV. Destroy with rockets the fuel storage facilities; and the parked Aichi Vals in the adjacent airstrip. Finally land on the carrier for mission complete.

Day of Infamy
(http://files.netwings.org/files/PacificFighters/Missions/Day_of_Infamy/Day_of_Infamy_5mission_pack.zip)
|
There are 5 different missions in this pack that are all based on the coop mission. There is a coop mission, a dogfight mission, an A6M2 single player mission, a P40B single player mission, and a D3A1 single player mission.
These missions are as historically correct as possible to the first wave of attacks on Pearl Harbor Dec. 7 1941. All attacking aircraft follow historical flightpaths and attack their historical target. It's not possible to place the actual number of Japanese aircraft in these missions, but I tried to make these missions overall historically correct. You'll notice that at times I used non-US ships. This was to give Pearl Harbor a diverse look, instead of using the same ships over and over. So, these missions are made to run only on PF+FB+AEP. My goal was to make Pearl Harbor look exactly like it did on Dec. 7, 1941. I think it does.

Tarawa_parafrag
(http://files.netwings.org/files/PacificFighters/Missions/Tarawa_parafrag/Tarawa_parafrag.zip)
|
In your A-20 G pound the Japanese airbase in Betio Island while the American naval forces launch an all-out attack on Tarawa in support of an amphibious landing by the Marine Corps. Carrier-borne fighters also lend their helping hand by destroying the Japanese strongpoints and bunkers on the coastline! This, of course, pales in comparison with what really happened on Tarawa. Read the rather extensive Tarawa readme included.
For mission complete you will also have to make a successful landing on the airfield once the island is liberated!

In my mission Tarawa due to a bug in the game engine the parafrag loadout for the A-20 G didn't function! It turned out the 40 parafrag was mislabeled. The right one is the one right under it in the drop-down menu. Now, everything should be OK. I added one static camera ctrl+F2, if you want to watch the parafrags drop to their targets.

Sunset_boulevard

In your Ki-84-Ic take off from a makeshift test runway in Yagachi Shima, Okinawa and engage and destroy the American fighters and bombers approaching the airbase from three directions. The take-off procedure may be a little tricky. Your starting position is on the left side of the runway, so you will have to apply right rudder right at the start in order to get to the centerline of the runway. Flaps take-off, chocks away and off you go. To help you to stay on the runway I have added Airfield campfires. The AI behavior is also sometimes weird: either they have suicidal tendencies: swerve off from the runway after touchdown , because there are no taxiways , but then again sometimes perform a logical touch and go. Go figure! No major snafus, though!
